U.S. prosecutors today laid bare widespread allegations of rampant corruption at FIFA, saying: 'This really is a World Cup of fraud and today we are issuing FIFA a red card.'
In a dramatic press conference, officials lined up to detail a case in which they claim to have exposed complex money-laundering schemes, found millions of dollars in untaxed incomes and tens of millions in offshore accounts held by FIFA officials.
U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch said bribery and corruption had dogged football's world governing body at the highest levels for at least 24 years.
I feel CAF should also be investigated, am sure there are tons of similar cases to be uncovered there as well. This really would explain why the world football leaders hang on to power for so long and at any cost.
Past officials that were caught in the past were probably exposed because they got caught, not because they were the only ones.
