Silva taken to hospital after elbow from Kouyate

Manchester City are awaiting the results of hospital tests on David Silva after the Spain star was carried off in the win over West Ham.

Silva was caught in the face by an flailing elbow from Cheikhou Kouyate and needed eight minutes of treatment on the pitch before he was given oxygen and taken away on a stretcher.

It is understood that he went to hospital as a precaution to check if he had fractured his cheekbone or possibly damaged a collarbone in the fall.
